Major Jason Watson carried these three words up the steps of the United States Capitol on a Wednesday afternoon in July 2026 and held them there until Capitol Police arrested him for refusing to stop. The sign came down when they took it from him. The words did not come down. They went into the historical record as the first public demand for impeachment, conviction and removal made by an active-duty commissioned officer in American military history — standing in uniform, on the record, at full personal cost, for the constitutional reason that the oath required it and no other reason was necessary.
